Where to Start
We are excited that you would like to return to the church and parish life, and we hope that you find St Michael's to be a welcoming new home.
If you need a concierge of sorts, someone to point you in the right direction and introduce you to the ministry leaders that can help you, contact Tina at TinaGregory@StMichaelLivermore.com
The process for returning to the Catholic Church after a time away from regular Sunday Mass attendance and living a life outside of church teachings is through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. But do not think about this beautiful Sacrament as if it is like going to the principal's office! Rather, there is joy and love and mercy - and excitement! - waiting for you. There is NOTHING that the Lord will not forgive, and He is present in the priest during the Sacrament.
If it's been a while since you last celebrated Mass - or if you never really understood what we do and say at Mass - a little brush up will help make the celebration more meaningful. In the short video series below, Jeff Cavins makes Sunday Mass come alive by illuminating the deep meanings behind the activity. If we will learn about the Mass and actively participate in it, we'll get much more out of it, and our lives will be changed.
During this time of transition back to your relationship with Christ and His church, you will need to make some time in a quiet place to pray and process the work the Lord is doing in you. The Eucharistic Adoration Chapel at St Michael's is open 24/7. Come and spend 15 minutes or more in the sacred space of His presence, whenever you like. All that is required is that you enter quietly and respectfully. Just sit and bask. Pray traditional prayers or informal conversations of your heart. Read Scripture, listen to inspiring music through headphones, write in your journal... the time is yours to spend with Jesus.
Make it official! Register as a parishioner of St Michael's. Download the registration form below and return it to the church office.
